Lucas if you take the gloves off, DON'T STOP THE PEOPLE!!! Double click for full screen.
Council mayors show their lack of understanding of the reality in Cobourg!. Brighton Mayor calls Lucas ignorant!...and he's new Warden?!! Looks like more of the same!

During the delegation Q&A, County Warden CONFIRMS PUBLICLY that consultations will determine if 310 will be low barrier. I attended a 1.5 hour Zoom consultation in January and that was NOT THE PROCESS AT ALL!

Q&A with Rev. Ellis of Transition House. He admits his staff are not capable of addressing mental health and addiction issues so we get to wear it since they went low barrier? If it's not a done deal, why is Lucas and the Port Hope Mayor pushing for County funding that the Province is responsible for? BTW, Rev. Ellis now works for the County?!!! CONFLICT!!!! See below!
Audio Podcast: Listen to Rev. Ellis confirm that this is a DONE DEAL. Remember, he now works for the County as well ! He also confirms that the consultations are for communication and not decision making purposes. Listen to the entire video. There is NO PLAN!!! Note that "wrap around services" are reducing available beds at 310 by 25%. (47 to 35). Enough is enough!!!!!
The County of Northumberland has purchased 310 Division on behalf of Transition House for $2.3 million. The 45 room retirement residence will be used as a Low Barrier Shelter and consolidate homeless services. They have yet to outline details and costs to the taxpayer!
Local residents and business owners have been working hard to get the Town to obtain assurances from the County on the impact of 310 Division. Given the track record of low barrier sheltering in Cobourg and the County Council indifference, they need support to hold the County accountable.
A petition with over 1000 signatures was rejected by the County of Northumberland due to technicalities. A new petition vetted by the County Clerk will be launched asking the County to REJECT designating 310 Division as a Low Barrier Shelter (LBS).
The County is conducting a public consultation on residents' concerns about 310 Division. The format allows for concerns, but the feedback will not stop the County from moving forward with the project parameters.
Brookside will be put up for sale as negotiations with Fleming College were unsuccessful. The encampment organizers have indicated there is no assurance they will house at 310 Division once it opens in the Spring. What happens if they reject 310 Division? We need answers!
